Maureen Highfield-Sykes honoured at the RYA Volunteer Awards

We're delighted to announce that Maureen Highfield-Sykes has been awarded an RYA Community Award for Lifetime Achievement and we'd like to congratulate Maureen on her award.
Maureen said, 'It was a complete surprise. I knew absolutely nothing about it until people started sending me congratulatory emails! I'm thrilled to bits and feel very privileged to be recognised in such a a way. Although I won't get to meet Princess Anne in the current climate I'm very pleased that the Club has offered to arrange a suitable celebration and I'm looking forward to receiving the award and sharing the occasion with a few Club Members.'
Her story hit the news in the Solihull Observer on 10 November and then again on 15 November, pictured above.

The RYA Community Awards are presented to outstanding individuals for their commitment and services to boating at club or grass roots level.
