Rear Commodore Cruising

I got into sailing having been sent a photo of some friends sipping their G & Ts on a yacht in the Ionian and deciding to explore further! 

This led to me undertaking my Day Skipper and Yacht Master theory courses at Shustoke and my RYA practical courses in both UK waters and the Canaries (so much warmer!).

I joined HOEOCA in 2020 and was awarded the James Race bursary in 2023 which helped support me with the Coastal Skipper course. Over the past 6 years, I’ve been fortunate enough to cover over 5,000NM including Scotland, Thailand, the Canaries, Greece and Croatia as well as various parts of the UK. 

Whilst serving mainly as crew or first mate, I have, more recently, been skippering boats for HOEOCA and have thoroughly enjoyed that privilege. The support, enthusiasm and companionship of HOEOCA members has made stepping into that role so much easier.
