I was introduced to offshore sailing through the Joint Services Adventurous Sail Training Centre (JSASTC), where I learned the basics and progressed to RYA Day Skipper. Most of my sailing has been in the Solent and along the South Coast. Occasionally, I manage to convince the family to join me, and we've enjoyed sailing a Cornish Shrimper while holidaying in Cornwall.

I joined the Heart of England Offshore Cruising Association to benefit from sailing alongside members with a wealth of knowledge and offshore experience. Every time I sail with the club, I learn something new.

Having recently completed my RYA Coastal Skipper practical course, my long-term ambition is to achieve the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence.

I was appointed to the committee in May 2026 and hope to play a small part in ensuring HOEOCA remains a welcoming club where people can enjoy being out on the water, develop their sailing skills, and spend time with friendly, like-minded people.
