My adventures with sailing began in a beautiful taverna in Kassiopi, Corfu, where I sat with a chilled white wine watching a festooned flotilla gracefully slip into the harbour. It all looked so lovely and friendly and so the seed was sown.
Fast forward a few years, and despite a few wild and wet weekends competent crewing in the Solent, I was ‘bitten by the bug’ and knocking of the door of HOEOCA.
Since then I haven’t looked back and have found many new friends in HOEOCA who have always been encouraging and supportive. Although there have still been a few trips around the Solent, I have relished the beauty of sailing in warmer waters, visiting areas in Greece, Turkey and Thailand.
I know that I still have much to learn and hope that in taking on this role I will be to be as supportive and useful to others on a similar pathway.
