OVERVIEW
An opportunity to gain your Short Range Certificate (SRC). It's a pre-requisite to being a Skipper and is a very useful skill to have on board. You'll learn how to make routine calls as well as emergency calls the classroom.
The Operator’s Licence involves homework, (3 hours prior study at home), 7 hours in a classroom and a 1 hour exam. Alternatively, there's an online course you can do at antime
During the one-day session you'll practice on Digital Selective Calling Radio Sets and complete exercises. In addition, you'll learn how the modern DSC Radio fits into the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System.

COST
Course Fee is £95 (to include RYA VHF Handbook G31).
Examination Fee of £76 payable to the RYA.
If you wish to take the online option and have an online completion certificate, the examination only will cost £76 plus a £10 facility fee.
