As a result of your feedback your committee has taken the following actions.

CRUISING

Spring Rally - as published, we've organised this from St Quay Portrieux with four boats chartered. This is a new venture, and we will evaluate once complete. It's hoped that some owners will plan to join us.

Summer Cruise – again, as announced we'll charter from Oban to cruise the Inner Hebrides. This opens a new cruising ground.

Hot, Hot, Hot – likely destination, Croatia, early-mid September. Details will be available early in the new year.

Autumn Rally – we'll revert to the four-day format (Thursday – Sunday), to encourage those who work to attend. There'll be a rally dinner on the last or penultimate evening. Likely dates 22 – 25 October.

Social cruising – there's an appetite to visit new areas. However, there are a very limited number of boats available to charter from reputable UK companies.

There 's quite a lot of interest in chartering in the Baltic.

Members should be encouraged to offer to organise small trips, using the club for cash flow and benefiting from support such as insurance, website and booking systems, provided such trips are open to all. This to be done with the support of a committee member and committee approval.

The surcharge for boat owners has now been removed.

Family sailing, some interest – there are many implications in extending our activities to Under 18s. This is not planned at present but could be considered again in the future.

Your committee feels that Social Cruising should retain it’s current, relaxed, format.

A small working group to be formed to consider how we offer 'taster weekends' to attract new members.

Sailing on a large vessel – to be investigated.

RACING

Main interest is in Prometheus Series Weekends & Training Weekends. Two racing skippers have been identified, one new and one returning member.

The Round the Island Race has become prohibitively expensive, and we propose resting for 2026.

TRAINING

Main requirement is RYA First Aid now planned for 22 March.

Also interest in boat handling – TBA

The club very much encourages  members to further develop their sailing skills, and, although it is not possible to offer formal sailing courses directly, (it being more appropriate to attend a commercially available course), any ad hoc initiatives are welcomed which increase the capabilities of members and potentially benefit the club.

Various other requests  have been received. We'll look at how best to handle - putting on ourselves, in conjunction with other clubs or referring to commercial suppliers.

SPEAKER NIGHTS

Many suggestions were received. We've a full programme 2025/26.

Unless we collaborate with others for a very high profile speaker, it is felt that club annual fees should include speaker nights.

Inviting other clubs to Speaker Nights to be considered although hard to manage numbers. Maybe we should look at a booking system?
