Laying Up Supper & 2025 Annual Awards

This year's Laying Up Supper was different from previous years and was also a little but earlier. We went to the North Warwickshire Golf Club and enjoyed a three course meal with an extremely generous three meat roast buffet. There were a lot of very full plates...

Maureen then gave an overview of the year and gave out the first Annual award, the Golden Ladle, to the web team of Mary Coles, Peter Dunn, Judy Lambourne and Beryl Reed who had all contributed many hours in selecting and setting up the new website.

Judy then presented the second prize of the evening, the Jim Race or Commodore's Trophy, to Martin Woods for his exceptional contribution to the Club over the years - skippering over a hundred times on Club Rallies and mentoring up and coming skippers and sailors.

The Raffle raised £265 for the Visually Impaired Sailing Association, for which Club member Simon Maycock skippers.

A big thank you to Maureen, ably supported by David Highfield-Sykes, for all the organisation, Ed Osmond for securing the venue and providing the playlist and  a couple of party games on the night, everyone who donated a raffle prize and Kim and all catering staff at the Golf Club.
