Dr Peter Lea Bursary

Posted by Mary Coles on 12 February 2018

It has been agreed, in consultation with Peter's family, that the BBCSCA will provide an annual bursary of £250, to enable one of the affiliated clubs' members to further his/her skills in their chosen sport.  This bursary would be provided from the budget of the BBCSCA, so would not fall directly on the individual clubs.  The bursary is open to all bona fide members of the affiliated clubs of the BBCSCA.  The announcement of the recipient of the award will be made at the  BBCSCA's AGM.

The award will be made to the candidate who can best demonstrate:

  •          Personal commitment (time, money, effort etc) spent in gaining skill in their sport
  •          How the award of the bursary will enable them to further their skills and/or knowledge

If more than one application is received, a sub-committee of the BBCSCA Board will decide, in conjunction with the relevant affiliated club, whether each candidate meets the criteria set.  Then, all applications from candidates that pass this test will be placed in a hat and a draw held to determine the recipient of the bursary.
