Racing - HOEOCA Fastnet Campaign 2019 Update
HOEOCA has TWO entries in the 2019 Fastnet Race
The Gentlemen's entry is a F40, Dusty P, chartered with skipper from Britannia and the Professionals, otherwise known as Chris & Simon, have entered their SunFast 3200, All or Nothing (AON), in the 2 handed category! You can follow the progress of ANO on their blog nearer the time.
The intrepid crew of Dusty P start off with intensive training - First Aid course, Sea Survival and Offshore Safety Course and then a weekend on the water over the 5th-7th April.
This is followed by three qualifying races, so we can all begin to realise what we have let ourselves in for:
- RORC Cervantes Race – Le Havre - 9am Saturday 4 May start
- RORC De Guingand Race – Channel Race - 9am Saturday 8 June start
- RORC Cowes - Dinard St Malo Race - 8.30am Fri 12 July start
The race itself - RORC Rolex Fastnet Race - starts from Cowes on Saturday 3 August and will return to Cowes by the following Friday morning.
Details of how to track the progress, amazing or otherwise, of both boats will be announced later.
Dusty P will be crewed by a skipper from Britannia, Martin Inglis (1st Mate), Gabriel Donaldson, Mark Parker, David Gilchrist, Will Russell, Peter Dunn, Ashleigh Hemming, Ian Stevenson & Allen Busby.
