Social - Lions Bonfire Call for Volunteers November 2019

The Lions Bonfire and Fireworks at the Lant sports ground (where HOEOCA meets) is one of the key charitable fund-raising events in Balsall Common each year - but volunteers are needed from the affiliated clubs to make it a success. This is one of the BBCSCA's main money earners in the year and assisting with this will help to keep HOEOCA subscriptions such good value.

HOEOCA is therefore looking for volunteers to assist with the following tasks

  • Sunday 3 November, 10am - 1pm approx. to collect pallets, build bonfire and put up signage (4 teams of 2, one driver, one sign 'putter-upper')
  • Saturday 9 November, 10am - 12noon, to erect marquees, gazebos, lights etc
  • Saturday 9 November, 5.30pm - 8.30pm approx, to manage the car park, gate and provide general assistance with security. At the end assist with the general clear up once the public have left.
  • Sunday 10 November, from 10am, to clear rubbish from the field and remove signage from village

If you're able to help please let Peter Smerdon know which session(s) you can do, then turn up at the Sports Club at the date and time for which you have volunteered. The Lions will be on hand on the day to direct volunteers.
