HOEOCA Racing Events
Not for the faint hearted, the Racesail Weekend format is proving a popular way of getting a growing number of members out on the water to experience the thrill of yacht racing. It's also a great way to test your oilies and experience some heavier weather sailing in the relative shelter of the Solent during the Spring and Autumn! All are welcome.
For more experienced Racesailors, we can make introductions to Skippers of private racing yachts looking for crew and we will eventually organise some offshore events of our own.
Any association member interested in joining the Racing Section should email Richard and he will add you to the email group for further updates. Racesail also has a blog, updated from time to time with notices, results and the odd bit of sailing tittle tattle.
A Typical Race Weekend looks like this...
- Boat: Sunsail F40
- Embark: Port Solent
- Crew: 7/8 (up to 12)
- Experience: Open to all comers, subject to mix of experience
- Shared Cost: c.£125 plus food etc.
- Charter: 1800 Friday to 1800 Sunday

Sunsail have announced their 2012 Racing Series dates:
Round 1 - March 17th & 18th
Round 2 - March 31st & April 1st
Round 3 - April 14th & 15th
Round 4 - July 14th & 15th
Round 5 - August 25th & 26th
Round 6 - September 22nd & 23rd
Round 7 - October 6th & 7th
Round 8 - October 20th & 21st
Book these (provisional) dates in your diaries for 2012! Dates Bold & Italics are the proposed weekends - so far.
